I'm Laura, and I’ve experienced firsthand how physically and mentally exhausting insomnia can be. I know what it’s like to dread bedtime, wondering if sleep will come. But I also know that with the right approach, better sleep is possible.
Now, I love sleep, and my goal is to help you get to a place where you no longer struggle with restless nights. I want to support you in transforming your sleep, so you wake up feeling refreshed, energized, and ready to take on the day.
I first qualified as a counsellor in 2012 and have since completed extensive training in the field of mental health. In 2018, I earned an MSc in Psychological Therapy, with a strong focus on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), during which I began working in NHS Primary Care.
Over time, I became increasingly aware of the lack of access to insomnia therapy, with many people being offered only digital programs instead of one-to-one support. Recognising the need for personalised insomnia treatment, I undertook specialised training in CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I) to provide the dedicated support you deserve. I completed this training with The Beck Institute, which is the home of CBT and CBT research. I have also completed further training on sleep science to support the therapeutic knowledge.
I am accredited with the NCPS and adhere to their ethical standards, ensuring a professional and compassionate approach to therapy.
CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that looks at your entire sleep experience, including the thoughts, behaviours, and habits that influence your sleep quality. Rather than just addressing symptoms, this therapy helps identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck in a cycle of poor sleep.
Together, we’ll explore different aspects of your sleep and gradually implement targeted changes to improve it. CBT-I is an active, collaborative process—while I’ll guide and support you, you’ll also be required to put strategies into practice between sessions, helping you build long-term, sustainable improvements in your sleep.
